Uzbekistan and India intend to deepen their scientific cooperation in the field of nuclear physics and initiate programs for training young researchers.
Scientific Cooperation and Meetings
Within this cooperation, meetings and scientific seminars were held at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences. Representatives from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research participated. The main focus of discussion was a long-term partnership between the scientific structures of the two countries.
Planned Research
Currently, the parties are developing memorandums of cooperation. It is planned that scientists will jointly conduct both theoretical and practical research in the field of nuclear physics. This research concerns nuclear reactions whose results could potentially be applied in the fields of atomic energy and medicine.
Development of Uzbekistan's Nuclear Competencies
In addition to bilateral initiatives, Uzbekistan is implementing its own projects to strengthen nuclear knowledge. A Regional Center for Knowledge and Skills in Atomic Energy is being established in Tashkent. This center will train specialists for Uzbekistan as well as for other Central Asian countries, including operating simulators for nuclear power plant equipment.
